Cheng Cheng my good pal from Kuala Lumpur was in town so I decided to treat her for dinner at Modesto ( orchard ). I've just received my pay anyway. I've heard about this restaurant and always wanted to try but it's alittle out of the way so since she's in town, I decide why not just head down to try their pastas. verdict? it's pretty good! the linguini was al dente and the sauce was savoury=) The portions were really huge and it was such a waste as both cheng and me where not that hungry so we left a lot of clams and prawns behind..
We were reminiscing the good old days in Virginia and how we wanted to travel to different countries to experience their cultures. I duno how but our conversations lead to a topic about how people like to scare themselves out of doing certain things. Cheng just went to HongKong and one of her friends asked isnt she afraid to get H1N1 as HK was more badly hit by the virus..She just told him that if she is meant to die she will still die if she stayed at home. She might just get stung by an insect carrying a deadly virus that flew into her window. That's a pretty neat way to think about life itself. It kinda reminded me when I was bout to go to Virginia for some work and travel program and just around that time was the famous virginia tech shooting where this korean guy went on a shooting rampage. For a moment, I was afraid to go as there might be a backlash against asian ( u know, asians all look the same to americans) but my classmate reminded me that God has a plan for me and my future will be good and it's not my time to die in america ( lol).
Basically, I felt that as long as U know that God has called you to do something great for Him ( I believe everyone who believes God is already called), you should not be hindered by fear and live life in trepidation. Do not hinder oneself from trying something new or touch unfamilar grounds as each new path brings you one step closer to God's divine plan for U!

step on new grounds..
